Lehigh Attractions

Lehigh's surrounding area consists of an extensive network of freshwater canals that many like to canoe. To get to the river for a boat ride down the Caloosahatchee, take Joel Boulevard to nearby Alva, located on SR80 on the river's banks. Alva is a quaint community where some of the original settlers of South Florida explored and called home. You can visit the town's museum, which is filled with relics from early Florida history and is recognized as one of the more interesting in South Florida.

You can also enjoy freshwater fishing year-round from Lehigh's many miles of canals, bike, engage in a spirited game of tennis, or play a round of golf at any of the five outstanding courses scattered throughout the community.

Spend a few days or just an afternoon at the Admiral Lehigh Hotel — the community's only hotel where you can dine in its restaurant overlooking an outside pool and golf course.

While visiting the area, don't miss a trip to the Eden Vineyards and Winery, also located in Alva. You'll be able to see grapes growing on the vines as well as taste wines made at both the winery and others from around the world. Open year-round from 11AM to 4PM, you can sample six different fine wines for $2.50.

There's also a popular miniature golf course and a large community pool which are attractions for both community residents and visitors.

You can find Bingo at several locations throughout the community. If you enjoy shooting pool, there are also two large billards parlors. Veterans will feel at home with several service organizations that are open daily. There is also one of the largest senior centers in Lee County, located on Plaza Drive in downtown Lehigh, with thousands of members. There are several county playgrounds and not far from the downtown area, a large park known as Veterans Park where many of the community's celebrations are held, such as the Fourth of July celebration, the Spring Festival in March, the Taste of Lehigh, concerts, and other events.
