I usually write my blogs on fraud, however today I wanted to take the opportunity to thank those who work in law enforcement. For every fraud case reported there is a detective or investigator who is assigned to investigate. Most of these individuals work long hours with little or no acknowledgement of gratitude from those they protect.
We are always quick to point out the times we feel that law enforcement didn’t do their jobs but how often do any of us say thank you for putting their lives on the line each day.
In the past doing social services I have had the opportunity to work with a number of Officers, and in all cases I found them to be caring and concerned for the victims.
But like many people we go about our day busy with chores, errands and family and never stop to thank those who work to keep our lives safe. In fact many of us never even think about law enforcement unless we are driving and see one and realize we need to slow down, or perhaps something happens and we call 911.
I encourage all of you to stop and thank an Officer when you have the chance. Our law enforcement men and women like our Armed Services don’t get thanked. It takes only a minute to thank a Veteran, or shake the hands of an Officer. If you think this is corny, then you haven’t been watching the news where in other countries you may not have anyone to call to your aid.
Thank you to all our past and present Law Enforcement Officers and to all Veterans and those who currently serve.
