How about giving ALL employees paid by the State of Florida a raise as they have not seen any increase in pay in SIX years. All Career Service employees pay 3% into the FRS. Many highly qualified people have left for another higher paying position or moved to the private sector. I support teachers getting a raise but they also have a pay scale that at least they see 1-2% increase every year they work for the school district and don't have to worry every five years whether Congress will think the job they do is important enough to continue.
