Incorporation may be long time off

November 29, 2013

Jere Carrick told members of the Lehigh Community Council last week that incorporation for Lehigh Acres, if desired by the vast majority of residents, is a way off yet....

There's really nothing to talk about: - the tax base is not here (Estero has the base: high end homes and expensive commercial) - The County spends far more in Lehigh than what it gets. - Many of the same characters involved for the 3rd time around are involved in this. When will they learn? They wanna play city despite their own flawed business backgrounds. The rest of us who prefer county government don't have to be "educated". It already has been reduced to telling lies, half truths and nastiness. Lehigh homeowners cant afford a tax increase so a bunch of nasty booobies can play city. Have areferendum. You will lose.

Butcher47;

Thanks and the same to you and all others this Christmas Season.

About a month or so ago I looked into possibly booking a room locally (Micro-Tel) and they wanted $150 for just a couple of hours; I can't afford that so I didn't look further into it. We just need a few people to get the information out there. Once people start talking to one another and comparing this with that and so on it could get very interesting.

Butcher47,

Get some folks together and let's talk this out. There is no way this can be discussed in this type of Comment forum as it would be too lengthy. The best way is to have folks meet and beforehand write down any and all questions they would like answered.

Incorporation: what it is; what it does; who REALLY runs things; the differences between a system run by the present government-corporation versus our Republic are all issues I would like to discuss with people who care.

I will meet with any of you anytime at your convenience. If we do meet try and have some of the 'leaders' present. I have nothing to hide but I bet they don't show up.

I saw the amount of money the county now spends in Lehigh and it is much more than what we send to the county. I heard people like Carrick and Angelickas are claiming the county is lying. Guess its silly season at the asylum.

Considering that incorporation will do nothing but cause higher taxes! If not directly, then indirectly through more laws, ordinances, and all the people who will be on the government payrolls with pensions to boot. Considering You cannot repeal any federal, state, or county laws or ordinances that are already on the books....all you can do is create more laws and ordinances. Which in turn is more loss of freedom. Enough SAID!The people of America are tired of government trying to run their lives!

You are right Keith. The money is just not there anyway. Carrik's little group will just accuse the rest of us as being uneducated to understand that the money is not there. Would you trust Carrik to run a city? Thank Carrik for the Admiral Lehigh Resort disaster. He wants to run a city now. They all lie and if you want to pay lots of taxes go ahead and be a city.

This man says incorporation failed due to "misinformation". I disagree. The opposite occurred. People are tired of government control; government lies; government costs; and the government's propensity to build walls that separate people from talking to, or trusting, others from within the same community.

Incorporation is properly defined as being nothing than a system of financial slavery. One does NOT GAIN rights by incorporating one CEDES his rights. When the time comes maybe we can all talk about what incorporation REALLY is?
