Airport traffic decreases in February

During February, 755,095 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a decrease of 6.8 percent compared to February 2009.

The traffic leader in February was Delta with 177,281 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (132,652), JetBlue (91,742), US Airways (73,807) and Southwest (64,324).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,108 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 6.5 percent compared to February 2009. Page Field General Aviation Airport saw 6,704 movements, a 5.8 percent decrease from February 2009. In addition, nearly 2.8 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in February 2010.
