Eyes Centers using new lens implant technology

June 7, 2010
Lehigh Acres Citizen

Dr. David C. Brown has announced that Eye Centers of Florida is the first and currently the only provider in Southwest Florida to offer the newly FDA approved Softec HD lens. Eye Centers of Florida has offices in Lehigh Acres at 3507 Lee Blvd.

The Softec LensHD, developed by Lens Tec offers cataract patients the very latest in lens implant technology, Brown said.

"The lens is specifically designed to, much more closely match, a patient prescription than ever before. The specificity and accuracy has been described as similar to 'buying shoes in one-quarter sizes rather than half sizes,'" Brown said.

This allows the surgeon to be even more precise when selecting the correct implant lens prescription for a cataract patient.

"We are proud that Lens Tec chose Eye Centers of Florida as the first practice to offer this new lens. SoftecHD is truly the new gold standard in achieving optimal vision after cataract surgery and we are pleased that our patients will now benefit from that," Brown said.

Founded in 1972 by Dr. David C Brown has a staff of more than 140, including a medical staff of four board-certified ophthalmologists, 10 board certified optometric physicians and a qualified team of specialists providers in Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Collier counties.
