The Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge 2602 is not for sale.
Members and officers wanted to get the word out that it has been removed from a sales listing and will continue to operate from their current location.
Over the past few months, members were concerned that the income from members and special events was not enough to keep up the building.
But all that has changed. The Lodge is located at 1050 Joel Blvd.
Quinn Jerriey and the officers along with the members have been holding special functions including dinners and other events in order to bring in the revenue to advert the sale of the building.
The Elks is a charitable organization with the two main charities being children and veterans and all funds raised go to support these two charities.
Now the Elks, a non-profit organization, is serving dinners for the public on Tuesday and Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. There are also dinner dances twice a month offering great menus and some of the best in local entertainment.
And everyone in the community is invited to come to these new fun events.
In addition, the lodge's main banquet hall is availed for rent, and can set more than 200 people. The Elks offer full service catering and bar service. Call 369-3348 for details.
But the big event is on New Year's Eve as the Elks are inviting the community to attend their gala ball and welcome it he New Year.
The party begins at 6 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres followed by shrimp cocktail and your choice of a prime rib or orange roughy dinner.
All party favors will be supplied including a champagne toast at midnight.
Entertainment is by the fabulous Brylcream, which is one of Southwest Florida's most exciting groups, members say.
Tickets are $45 a person and reservations are required in advance. You can call Barbara Guido at 239-770-2497 to reserve your table.
According to Guido, after you have come to the Elks and help them to help others, you may just want to stay and become a member.
