Senior Citizen Center January schedule of events

These are the Lehigh Acres Senior Citizens Center upcoming events for January:

Every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Bingo with large jack pots. Nonmembers are welcome.

Every Wednesday at 2: 15 to 3:45 p.m. Dance.

Monday through Friday between 9-11 a.m. Free Blood Pressure checks for members.

Fridays, Jan. 28-1:30-4 p.m. Tea Dance . Jan. 14-No dance due to open board meeting.

Fridays, Jan. 7 and 28 Karaoke and Dance.

January 3 at 11:30 a.m. Learn at Lunch. VR Balance will be discussing balance and test balance. Sign up in advance. Fountain Crest will provide lunch.

January 4 at 1 p.m. Meet the candidates. Please sign up in advance.

January 6 at 9 a.m. Diabetic support group. LRMC will provide the breakfast.

January 6 at 1 p.m. Memorial Service. You must be a member and sign up in advance.

January 6 at 7-9 p.m. Dance with the Chadburns. $4 for nonmembers and $3 for members.

Fridays Jan. 7 and 28 Karaoke and Dance.

January 8 at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fun Fest and Fundraiser. Volunteer's in Medicine is the free medical clinic that will be opening in Lehigh. We will have Bingo, games and food to raise money for the clinic.

January 12 at 11:30 a.m. Hot Dog Day. Members sign up in advance.

January 12 at 12:30-4 p.m. Target Shooting. Members will carpool to go target shooting.

January 13 at 9 a.m. Doctor's Breakfast. Dr. Paine will speak on spinal cord stimulation. LRMC will provide the breakfast. Please sign up in advance.

January 13 Trip to Solomon's Castle. See travel desk at the center.

January 14 at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Elections for the board today.

January14 at 2 p.m. Open Board Meeting. No dance or classes after 2 p.m.

January 17 at 9:30 a.m. M.L.K. Breakfast. Members must sign up a week in advance.

January 19 at 10 a.m. Trip to Immokalee Casino. See travel desk at center.

January 20 at 12:30 p.m. January Birthday Party. Members must sign up.

January 20 at 7-9 p.m. Dance with LeDeux. $4 for nonmember and $3 for members.

January 21 at 12:30-3:45 p.m. Hoe Down. There will be a show by Fuster Buskins, lunch and dance to follow. Wear your country outfit and have fun. Members must sign up.

January 24 at 11:30 a.m. Learn at Lunch. Dentist Dr. Craig Mayer, will discuss problems with the aging mouth. Members must sign up.

January 25 at 10:30 a.m. Meet-N-Eat "Elephant Bar" Meet at center and carpool to the restaurant. Please sign up in advance.

January 27 at 9 a.m. Doctors Breakfast. Dr. Chris Calcagni will speak on Podiatry. LRMC will provide the breakfast. Please sign up in advance.

January 27 at 1 p.m. Movie Day. "The Blind Side" with Sandra Bullock. Please sign up.

Daily classes are offered. We have line dancing, bocce, creative writing, harmonica, discussion group, multiple card games, Swedish weaving, tatting, needlework-many types, punch needle, woodcarving, stain glass, plastic art craft, simulated bowling, sewing for beginners or advanced, pine needle baskets, art(all mediums), weight loss group, walking, make a teddy bear class, craft class, exercise classes, quilting, ping pong, beginner and intermediate computer classes.

Join the Entertainment group and perform skits and sing. We also have our Golden Shell Boutique which is open to the public.

We sell clothes and a multitude of other items for a great price. We also have a singles and social group that plans activities for the weekends. New classes offered are salsa for seniors, ballroom dance lessons and our 5,000 Year Leap History Class that is discussing how the constitution was formed. We welcome anyone 50 or older.
