Lehigh Thrift store plans Sunday opening party with refreshments

January 4, 2011

The Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Thrift Store is celebrating its plans to open on Sundays, according to store manager Steve Baker.

The celebration is January 2 at the store on Homestead Rd. The new Sunday hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will kick off the new Sunday hours, Baker said, by offering hotdogs and drinks for all visitors.

He said the store is open during the week from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All of the merchandise in the store is of excellent quality and has been donated by members of the community. The store is one of largest retail outlets in Lehigh. The store has been redesigned inside to make shopping easier for the public, Baker said.

"Before we put it out on the showroom floor, we make sure It is clean and in working order. Appliances are inspected and repaired if need be. There are several racks of clothing, some still new stickers attached. There are also several pieces of furniture for the home and lots of other things such as tools, gadgets and more.

"We want everyone to come and visit us on Sunday. If you haven't been here before, this is a great opportunity to show you where you can find plenty of bargains," Baker said.
