Jay Ruxer has been appointed director of finance at Child Care of Southwest Florida Inc., according to an announcement from Executive Director Beth Lobdell. Ruxer will be responsible for all accounting, budgeting and financial reporting requirements at the non-profit agency.
Child Care of Southwest Florida has facilities in Lehigh Acres for local children and is located on Wings Way, off of Beth Stacey Blvd.
"We feel very fortunate to have someone with Jay's breadth of experience join our team," Lobdell said. "His varied experience, including in the non-profit sector, will serve us well."
Ruxer earned both a bachelor of arts and a master of arts. degrees in business from Western State College in Gunnison, Colo.
He has worked in several financial capacities during his 30-year career, including tax manager and corporate controller at McDowell Enterprises in Nashville, Tenn., and vice president of finance at the Heritage Group in Indianapolis, Ind.
Prior to moving to Fort Myers, he was vice president of finance of a company that manufactured construction trailers in Atlanta, Ga.
Ruxer lives in South Fort Myers with his wife Suzanne.
Child Care of Southwest Florida Inc. is a private non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality child care services throughout Southwest Florida. The agency provides child care for 700 children from infancy through age 12 at its six child care centers throughout Lee and Hendry counties. In addition, the agency conducts training for child care workers, and administers the federal food program in 10 counties for child care centers and family child care homes.
