Lehigh Acres Citizen

The 22nd Annual Fort Myers Spring Boat Show runs Thursday, March 10 through Sunday, March 13 at the Lee Civic Center. One of three shows produced annually by the Southwest

Florida Marine Industries Association, the show features new and used boats from most of the area's major dealers.

More than 300 new and used boats will be on display both inside the Civic Center and outside on the Civic Center Grounds. It's not just boats. There will also be a wide variety of accessory displays inside and out.

Everything from electronics, marine supplies, boat lifts and fishing tackle, to clothing and sunglasses.

This is a great opportunity for both the experienced boater and those just starting out to learn more about the amazing waters of Southwest Florida. Southwest Florida is home to some of the finest boating waters in the United States and the show will offer a number of displays to educate the public on how to enjoy themselves safely on a boat.

A redesigned Fishing Seminar Series, sponsored by the Nautical Mile, will be ongoing throughout the four days. Both the U.S. Power Squadron and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be on hand with boating safety information. And, many area boatyards and marinas will be on hand to answer questions about boating destinations.

"It is hard to believe that this is our 22nd annual show at the Civic Center", said show manager John Good. "Boat shows are so important to our industry. Both exhibitors, and the public have come to rely heavily on the convenience that shows offer. The consumer can see, compare and buy without having to

travel literally hundreds of miles to visit area dealers hroughout Southwest Florida. And this show is perfectly timed since we are all ready for warm weather and the chance to get out on the water."

The Fort Myers Spring Boat Show is March 10-13 at the Lee Civic Center. On Bayshore Road in North Ft. Myers, three miles east of I-75 at Exit 143. Hours are, Thursday through Saturday, 10am-6pm. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 (children under 12 free). Parking is free. Complete details can be found at
