Bigelow appoints woman to Port Authority panel

Deirdre Sullivan Mann has been appointed to the Lee County Port Authority Airports Special Management Committee (ASMC) by Lee County Commissioner Brian Bigelow. The committee serves as an advisory board to the Lee County Board of Port Commissioners, reviewing policy, administrative and management matters for Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field General Aviation Airport. Each ASMC member serves without compensation.

Mann is president of Family Thrift Centers and has been with the organization since 1996. Prior to that, she worked for the Department of Defense in the Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation Division at several bases in Southern California as the publicity and marketing director and air show coordinator.

Mann has lived in Fort Myers for 15 years and is active in the local community. She has served and/or is serving on the Lee County Alliance for the Arts Board of Directors (past president), Southwest Florida International Airport's Art in Flight Committee (chair for two years), Edison College Pops@Sunset Concert (founding committee member, chair for three years), Department of Human Services Neighborhood Accountability Board volunteer, Fort Myers Rotary Club, Fort Myers Woman's Community Club Director (two terms), youth group leader and Sunday school teacher at First Presbyterian Church, Junior League Community Advisory Board, Art of the Olympians Advisory Board, American Red Cross "Starstruck" participant and Relay for Life team captain.

She and her husband live in Fort Myers with their three daughters.
