She has a doctorate degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida, a bachelor’s degree in English/Secondary Education, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida. She has brought personal success to each school and District in which she has focused her energy.
She is a team leader, a proponent of conflict resolution which she taught, and an implementer of innovate teaching methods to bring our schools and students into the 21st century. She expects 100 percent participation from administrators, staff and teachers as a motivational leader.
Nancy possesses the leadership qualities to run a Fortune 500 company because of her strong people skills, effective communication, listening, speaking, diplomacy, and creativity, ability to work with diversity, employees and constituent groups. She has vast experience in working with employee groups, associations and unions and can initiate innovative ideas as well as evaluate the potential for success associated with educational and financial needs.
Over the years I’ve known Nancy, I’ve observed her parent and community engagement creating an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect among District personnel, patrons and the communities in which she becomes involved. She is capable of building a new District image, building more parental and community involvement and will become the new face of the District.
She has a working knowledge of law and policy governing public education at the federal, state and local level and is capable of developing and implementing District policy. She has established report with legislatures to develop an effective working relationship with our State government and has successful experience in sound fiscal practices, long-range planning, and management of district resources.
More than anything, Nancy Graham will motivate staff to not only plan but maximize the efficient use of all personnel in decision making to maximize promoting excellence in teaching, learning and collaborate with the current Board to prioritize educational needs. She is able to continue to help change the technological environment and support continuous development of technology resources in our District.
I’ve watched a school picket the School Board when they transferred her to another school and an entire community come out to support her staying at that school. I’ve seen her bring in the best of new high school principals from other Districts and motivate others in the District to become the best of the best. I’ve observed her intuitiveness with students in knowing their names, something about them or their family members. I’ve seen her compassionate nature with students, parent, teachers and staff and how she can build a “team” that wants to work together and give 100 percent of their time and energy.
Nancy Graham is the candidate for Superintendent of Schools for the Lee County School District.
