New Bravo commander wants good working relationship

May 24, 2011
Lehigh Acres Citizen
To The Editor:

My name is Ron Curtis; I am a captain with the Lee County Sheriff's Office. I will be assuming the position of district commander at the Sheriff's Substation here in Lehigh Acres as our friend, Captain Ed Tamayo, retires from the agency at the end of the month.

Captain Tamayo has been a mentor to me over the years in fact when I patrolled Lehigh Acres as a Deputy Sheriff in the early 90s he was my sergeant and I have

followed in his footsteps for most of my career. We share many of the same leadership and management characteristics and opinions on many issues; Captain Tamayo will be sorely missed.

Those things said, it is my most sincere hope to continue to follow in Captain Tamayo's footsteps and continue to foster a close working relationship with all of the Lehigh Community Leaders.

Ultimately, I want to get to know you better, and I want to hear your thoughts and concerns and I want to work together to keep Lehigh Acres safe and secure.

In closing I want you to know that I am here for you and all residents and visitors of Lehigh Acres and I look forward to working with all of you. My contact information is below for your convenience, and please feel free to stop by the substation for a cup of coffee and conversation any time.

Captain Ronald J. CurtisJr.

Bravo District Commander

Lee County Sheriff's Office

Lehigh Acres
