State Farm insurance agents are participating in a drive to collect school supplies that will be given away to students when school reopens in August.

The drive runs from July 18 to Aug. 12. Agents are asking customers and the community to join them in helping to collect all kinds of school supplies that students will need when they return to school.

Supplies may be dropped off at any State Farm agent’s office. In Lehigh that includes:

• Laura Brauch State Farm Agency, 3509 Lee Blvd., Suite 1.

• Teresa Goodlad State Farm Agency, 702 Leeland Heights Blvd W.

The following is an example of school supplies that are needed:

Backpacks, note books, folders, binders, pens, pencils, colored pencils markers, erasers, rulers, protractors, scissors, crayons, flash drives, calculators, board eraser solutions, timers/stop watches, paper clips, chart paper, index cards, printed paper, and lined paper.

School supplies will be distributed to local families by Lehigh Community Services at 201 Plaza Drive in Lehigh during the last week of July. Additional school supplies may be handed out later, according to Charlotte Rae Nicely, executive director of Lehigh Community Services.
