29 single-family permits pulled in Lee County in July
Contractors pulled 29 permits in July to build single-family houses collectively valued at more than $7 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 45 permits issued in June and 33 issued in July 2010, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.
Permits were issued for four multi-family units, compared to two in June and 28 in July 2010.
Permits for 13 new commercial structures were valued at nearly $4.4 million in July, compared to $2.5 million in June and $1.4 million in July 2010.
A total of 2,155 permits of all kinds were issued during July, and more than 18,100 have been issued so far in 2011. That includes permits for 235 single family homes.
Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
