Come out Monday, Aug. 8, to the Sidney & Berne Davis At Center in fort Myers for "Light" an 88-minute, locally produced film.
A teenage boy struggles to understand and explore his new found latent super powers with the help of his best friend while navigating the treacherous waters of high school. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, evil forces turn a trusted ally and teacher against them.
Directed by Marty Wisher with intermission, question and answer period with local cast. Doors open at 6 p.m. for happy hour. The film starts at 7 p.m.
The series continues next week with Delicious Peace Grows in an Ugandan Coffee Bean and Sing Me to Sleep (August 15), Beatboxing: The Fifth Element of Hip Hop (August 22) and Man from France (August 29).
Then starting September 5 TGIM starts up with "Intellectualization Mondays with host Eric Raddatz" for the films, judges, entertainment, drinks and "mindblows" at Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center every Monday night through the film festival next year March 2012. It is co-hosted by Dan Linehan with musical guest Elijah Green.
The highly successful Intellectualization Mondays in Fort Myers with host Eric Raddatz, also known as TGIM for "Thank God its Monday" which warmed into last season's successful festival, will offer a consideration of a series of official films from the 2011 Fort Myers Film Festival's official programming in case any were not able to see them during the actual festival, and play some fresh local films as well.
Discussions with the producers and directors from the films will take place during taped interactive discussions with the audience. Admittance is $5. Watch the film, grab a drink and intellectualize with the community after. The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located at 2301 First Street, Fort Myers. Doors open at 6 p.m. Film begins at 7 p.m.
