To The Editor:
Governor Rick Scott announces he is running in 2014. Is that good for the people of Florida?
Scott suspended rules for eighty months until courts ruled against him.
Scott hurt thousands of government employees with layoffs.
Scott's worst idea was privatizing jails.
Scott cut education with massive budget cuts.
Scott nonetheless pays his new assistants more than those who previously held the job.
Scott flip-flopped on oil drilling.
Scott turned down federal funds that could have provided for the unemployed.
I for one believe his history of harming Florida's economy will strengthen his opponent. Scott's 30 percent approval rating is not a ringing endorsement. Scott has not delivered for average income earners in Florida. He has not reduced unemployment. When he runs in 2014, voters will have to decide whether Florida is better off after four years of Scott.
I am sure he will pour in millions more of his own money for political ads on television. Voters need to be informed, so they can choose wisely in 2014.
