When you enter the new Fiesta Auto Insurance agency at 1111 Homestead Rd. in Lehigh Acres, you're going to feel right at home. Owners Salvatore and his wife, Cherie Schiafone, have gone out of their way to make customers feel welcome.
First, you're likely to be given a bottle of cold water and if you bring your children with you, there is even a place in their spacious office for them to play and watch TV.
Salvatore and Cherie held a grand opening of their new business on Saturday, Oct. 29. They called the well-attended grand opening a celebration party. For two hours from 10 a.m. to noon, they mingled with local residents and enjoyed refreshments from Taco Ardiente. There was also a live remote broadcast of the festivities.

Salvatore said their new auto insurance agency has been open for several weeks now and they have probably given out 500 bottles of cold water.
"We were having some hot days and the water was a welcomed drink," Salvatore said.
Both he and his wife are friendly and are glad to answer any type of insurance question you may have.
CAPTIONS WITH STORY:
Salvatore and Cherie Schiafone are owners of the new Fiesta Auto Insurance agency at 1111 Homestead Rd. in Lehigh Acres.
is located in the south end of the Sunshine Shopping Place, often called the Winn-Dixie shopping center.
: Cherie Schiafone plays the mascot for the new Fiesta Auto Insurance Agency in Lehigh. Hardly a day goes by that she isn't wearing the suit and walking the parking lot waiving to everyone.
"For those who have had problems with a DUI or other infractions on the road, we are here to answer their questions and help them to get insurance for their autos, their boats, and their recreational vehicles," Salvatore said.
Two other agents in the spacious business can speak both English and Spanish fluently. They are Janet Alamo and Gina Amador, both of Lehigh.
Salvatore brings a lot of business experience with him. He also operates a marina in Bonita Springs. He has also been in the banking business.
"The law requires everyone in Florida who drives that if they have a registered vehicle, they must have insurance coverage. They must always carry that proof of insurance with them. If they are stopped and are uninsured, they can be cited by law," Salvatore said.
He went on to say that while most auto insurance companies check a person's credit report, that is not done at Fiesta Auto Insurance.
"We can work with anyone. All they need to do is come in and talk to us about any problems they have and I am pretty sure we can take care of them," he said.
In addition to vehicle insurance, they also provide insurance for commercial establishments and businesses.
"We've had people come in who couldn't get insurance somewhere else because of certain issues, but we were able to take care of them.
"It's rough for a lot of people. We deal with several companies and our prices are competitive," he said.
When tax season arrives, they will also do taxes for those who don't want to handle it by themselves.
You may have been driving along Homestead Rd. and noticed "Max," a funny looking character-like bird waiving to you. "That's our mascot, Max, and the kids love him," he said.
"When folks come in and talk to us, we even have a portion of the office for the kids to play in so their parents can discuss their insurance concerns with us," he said. Children can watch TV or read or do coloring while their parents are busy with an agent.
Guess who the mascot may be?
If you guessed Cherie, his wife, you are right. Max was enjoying the grand opening last week. And you may even see Max in the Spring Festival Parade, Salvatore said laughing.
"Our primary goal is to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in our office. We want people to feel comfortable.
He said Lehigh was chosen for the business site because of its demographics. Lehigh is a diverse community and there are a lot of things going on here, he said.
As the business continues to grow, the husband and wife team say they plan to look at other areas in Lee County in 2012 to open up even more Fiesta Auto Insurance agencies.
"We're looking at Tice and east Fort Myers, for an example," Salvatore said.
With all the gift certificates handed out last Saturday, the winners are able to use them at the Save A Lot grocery store and at different wrestling events.
"We think everyone had a great time. And if there are some who were not able to make it, come on in and talk to us. We'd like to meet you and help you with your insurance needs," Salvatore said. You can get more information by calling them at 368-6500.
