One Cape boys' soccer team extended its scoreless win streak while another saw its streak come to an end Monday night.

The Mariner Tritons had not allowed a goal to any of their first five opponents this season. That ended in the 70th minute of Monday's opening-round game of the Sarasota Thanksgiving Tournament when Tampa Jesuit scored in a 3-1 loss to the Tritons.

Goalkeeper Jacob Olmstead saved 17 of the 18 shots on goal.

"Our defense played outstanding," said Tritons coach Martin Cardenas. "They really limited Jesuit's chances inside the box."

Toby Lara, Justin Kuchle, Isiah Romano, Glenn Garron and Josh Teeter were the defenders cited by Cardenas.

The Tritons (5-0-1) play again in the three-day tournament at 8 p.m. Tuesday against an opponent to be determined.

Cape Coral 8, Dunbar 0: Cape Coral extended its scoreless win streak to four Monday night with its fourth shutout win.
