Top-seeded Gulf Coast moved on to the District 4A-12 championship game with a 2-0 win over Ida Baker Tuesday night.
Cliff Tewis scored both goals for the Sharks (10-3-7).
Tewis' first goal was 1 minute, 37 seconds into the game off a great run off the flank. His second goal was in the 24th minute off a corner kick.
"I thought it was a great game for both sides. We are looking forward to playing in the championship game," Sharks coach Alan Scott said.
The Bulldogs finish the season with an 8-11-6 mark and one game shy of reaching the state playoffs.
In Friday's district championship, Gulf Coast hosts the winner between Palmetto Ridge and Barron Collier.
Ida Baker 2, Fort Myers 1: Fort Myers scored first Monday night, but Ida Baker retaliated with a pair of first-half scores to knock the Wave out of the District 4A-12 Tournament.
Winston Marin tied the game and Jordan Pinto got the game-winning goal for the Bulldogs, who played at Gulf Coast Tuesday in the semifnals. Palmetto Ridge takes on No. 2 seed Barron Collier in the other semifinal match with the winners meeting Friday for the championship.
Marlon Herrera and George Kucera each had one assist with goalkeeper Rush Manterola standing strong in the net through the second half, including a huge save with five minutes remaining.
"We had numerous chances to score, but just couldn't find the net," said Bulldogs coach Justin Aulls.
