Strawberry Festival is Feb. 11 at Lehigh church
Get ready to buy some real fresh strawberries from Plant City, Fla., the best place in the country for strawberries by attending the Strawberry Fair at First Community Congregational Church on Feb. 11 at 200 Leeland Heights Blvd.
Pastor Deb Frysinger says there will be plenty of fresh strawberries, a great tasting strawberry short cake, ice cream hot fudge dappled strawberries, chips, drinks, and pulled beef sandwiches with hot dogs and chili dogs.
There will also be a bounce house in the front yard of the church for the children. Everyone is invited to come to the Strawberry Fair and enjoy themselves, Frysinger said.
Elks planning Sweetheart, dinner, dance on Feb. 11
The Fort Myers Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge 1288 will host a "Sweetheart Dinner and Dance" on Saturday, Feb. 11. The bar opens at 4 p.m. and a filet mignon dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Music will be by JJ Big Band. Tickets are $20 per person and must be purchased in advanced at the Elks. Hope health care services

The Garden Clubs of Alva and Lehigh Acres are presenting "An Evening at Hope Health Care Services" on Feb. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at 1201 Wings Way in Lehigh Acres. To get there, turn off Beth Stacey Blvd. at the large Hope sign and drive to the end of the road.
The public is invited to learn about the many caring services and facilities available for loved ones and for the residents in your community, club officials said.
The evening will feature two special presentations.
First will be Hope Hospice, Comfort care for "end of life" patients.
The second featured presentation will be Hope Pace. This program will explain the all-inclusive care available for the elderly which includes respite daycare, allowing relief and personal time for caregivers.
K of C Auxiliary to hold 'luncheon at the races' on March 10
The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary in Lehigh Acres have scheduled a luncheon at the Races on Saturday, March 10 from noon to 3 p.m. It will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 1250 Business Way. There is a donation of $6 for the luncheon.
After a light meal and tea or coffee, there will be prizes and raffles. Tickets are available from members or from Chairperson Jean Castildi at 2399-209-8945, according to Jacqueline Landon, president of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Raphael Council 6265.
Golf tourneys for Relay
for Life seeking players
The Lehigh Relay for Life is gearing up for a golf tournament to be held on the course of Majestic Golf Club on March 12. Benefits go to the American Cancer Society to help local people fight cancer.
The entry fee is $69 with non-members paying $35 and includes gift bags, lunch, coffee and donuts by Dunkin' Donuts and prizes. You can try your skills at Long Drive for both men and women, putting and Hole-in-One contests. Teams can include four men or four women or two men and two women.

The next Lehigh Acres Community Plan Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, March 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the East County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road North, Lehigh Acres.

to host Rose Society
The Garden Club of Lehigh Acres will hold its February meeting on Tuesday, February 14 at 7 p.m. at Fountain Crest, 1230 Taylor Lane Ext.
Guest speaker will be Debbie Wyatt-Stotter, representing the Greater Fort Myers Rose Society and first vice president of the Fort Myers - Lee County Garden Council. She will give a talk on growing roses in Southwest Florida and will answer any questions on the subject, to be followed by the club's monthly plant auction. Guests and new members are welcome.
