The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) is seeking applications to fill one member position on the Lehigh Acres Utility Advisory Committee (UAC) which meets six times per year. These are unpaid volunteer rolls and will be filled by appointment by the board of the FGUA, according to Barbara Kerby, a customer services representative at the FGUA office in Lehigh Acres. She said appointment to the UAC will be made on the basis of experience or interest within the subject matter of the UAC jurisdiction.
Applicants must live within the Lehigh Acres FGUA Utility Service Areas in Lee County and will serve for a term of three years.
Once formed, the UAC will be empowered to consider and make recommendations to the FGUA board regarding:
Kerby said the UAC will offer suggestions and recommendations on its own initiative. The UAC will also receive petitions and suggestions from citizens and will cooperate with citizen groups, civic clubs, governmental agencies and other organizations. The UAC bylaws require:
