The Veterans Park Recreation Center presents the following upcoming events and activities:
Community yard sale
Clean out your closets, garages and homes. Turn your junk into another's treasure. Take advantage of the crowds that a community yard sale can generate. This is a great way to sell your stuff or just come to shop.
The Veterans Park Recreation Center is holding a community yard sale in its indoor, air conditioned gymnasium on Saturday, March 10 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Cost is $5 per 6-foot table and space, or bring your own 6-foot table for $3 per space. Set-up start at 7 a.m. Doors open at 8 a.m.
If a rabbit can lay eggs, then we most certainly can lay coconuts.
Colored coconuts and eggs will be hidden in designated areas of the recreation center park grounds. Bring your Easter basket and join the hunt.
There will be games, face painting and activities for the participants. There will also be a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny.
The hunt will be broken in to four different age groups with colored coconuts and eggs in each patch. Bring your camera for that once in a lifetime photo.
Prizes will be given for different colored coconuts.
The event will held Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. The hunt begins at 10:30 a.m. sharp, no exceptions.
Open to infants to children 13 years old. Cost is $5 per child. You must pre-register as the event is limited to 100 participants.
The Veterans Park Recreation Center is at 55 Homestead Road S. For more information, or to pre-register, call the center at 369-1521.
