ECWCD meeting site changed
The East County Water Control District (ECWCD) will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 19 at 601 E. County Lane, Lehigh Acres. Lehigh Acres Edible Gardening Exchange topic is citrus
The March speaker on citrus at the Lehigh Acres Edible Gardening Exchange will be Dr. Mongi Zekri from Hendry County Extension. His topic is Everything you ever wanted to know about citrus. Bring questions and samples of damaged fruit or plant parts to the meeting.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 at the Veterans Park Recreational Building. Meetings are free; however, a once-in-a-lifetime membership fee to Veterans Park of $10 per person is required, said Karen Harty, moderator for the gardening exchange.
Register to vote at Spring Festival
During the Spring Festival (March 16-24) at Veterans Park, the Lehigh Acres Community Council booth will have someone from FEVRR (Foundation Education Voters Rights and Responsibility) to register eligible citizens to register to vote. Eligible voters must have information such as: driver's license, address etc., said Mohamed Yasin, a member of the Community Council.
Church to hold ethnic bake sale
All Saints Catholic Church will have a bake sale on Saturday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Several ethnic baked good swill be available such as nut roll, poppy seed rolls, cookies and several breads. Also available will be the traditional Easter Bread, both egg and white raisin.
The church is located on Bayshore Rd., Exit 143, east of I-75 and a quarter mile and west of the civic center, said Mariann Gaydos, chairman of the bake sale.
Sorority meeting set
Beta Sigma Phi, Laureate Delta Xi, will meet at Suzy Meuwissen's home on March 14 at 7:15 p.m. for officers and at 7:30 p.m. for members. Visiting Betas are welcome. For more information, call Linda at 369-1969.
Land Use Plan workshop rescheduled
The March 10 workshop for the Lehigh Acres Land Use Plan has been rescheduled for April 14 and will be held at Veterans Park Recreational Center starting at 9:30 a.m. Previously, it had been scheduled at the East Regional Library, said Janet Miller, an administrative assistant in the DCD Administration of county government.
Annual Fashion Show planned
The General Women's Club of Lehigh Acres will hold its annual Fashion Show and Luncheon on Saturday, April 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Colonial Country Club at 9175 Independence Way, Fort Myers. Meet, greet with Rep. Tom Rooney
A Meet and Greet program with U.S. Congressman Tom Rooney from Florida's 16th Congressional District will be held on Thursday, April 5 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bistro Rudy Restaurant at 1251 Taylor Lane Extended in Lehigh Acres.

Festival in Immokalee planned
The Seminole Casino Immokalee in conjunction with the Arts of the Inland will hold a Balloons Over Paradise festival at the Immokalee Regional Airport, 165 Airport Blvd., Immokalee, during the weekend of April 13 through 15.
Public invited to see 'Cricketers'
Lehigh Cricketers (host) will play a two-day match against a team from Connecticut at Veterans Park (in front of the school) on March 31 and April 1. Game will be on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday at around 9 a.m. The public is invited to enjoy and learn about the sport. Some food will be available.
General Women's Club to meet
The General Women's Club of Lehigh Acres will hold its March meeting on Friday, March 16 at the Faith Lutheran Church on Leeland Heights Blvd. at 1 p.m. Tickets for the April 24 fashion show will be available for purchase.
