Herman Liddle 89, of Lehigh Acres, formerly of Morgantown, W. Va., died Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Worth, W. Va., to the late John and Thelma (Harman) Liddle.
He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He retired from the mining industry as a supervisor after 27 years of service, having been employed with Arkwright, Blacksville and Humphrey Coal Mines. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2602 Lehigh Acres, and Admiral Lehigh Golf Resort.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Marie, on July 29, 1995; five brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are his sons, Gerald of Lehigh Acres, and Allan, William and Steven, all of Morgantown, W. Va.; sister, Elizabeth Tazwell of Virginia; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in Morgantown, W. Va.
