James J. Wollerman Sr., 73, a Lehigh Acres resident for more than 33 years, died Sunday, April 22, 2012. He was born in Chicago, Ill., to Lawrence and Erna Monicke Wollerman.
He graduated from Steinmetz High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 323 and an avid bowler.
He is survived by his wife of eight years, Virginia (Ginny); mother, Erna Wollerman, of Lehigh Acres; brother, Lawrence (Linda), of Crystal River, Ill.; sister, Gail Fricker (Lowell), of Sebring; children, James Jr. (Kathi Ann) of Alva, David (Tina) Shelby of Township, Mich., and T.J., of Lehigh Acres; grandchildren, Stefan, Matthew, Joshua, Lil T.J. and Jessica; great-granddaughters, Avalene and Payton; sister-in-law, Caroline Kretzer, of Fultonville, N.Y.; aunt and uncle, Lucille and Orville Kurtz, of Lehigh Acres; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Cottini Wollerman; and his father.
A memorial service was held May 7, 2012, at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David B. Stacy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Legacy Fund or the charity of your choice.
