Charlotte Bozman Piper

Charlotte Bozman Piper, 64, of Lehigh Acres, formerly of Oriole, Md., died Wednesday, May 16, 2012. She was born Aug. 14, 1947, in Chester, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles Lake Mac Hardy and Mildred Louise Layfield.

She attended Salisbury, Md., area schools and worked for D&F shirt factory in Salisbury, the Jodie shirt factory in Fruitland, Md., and later for Meatland in Princess Anne, Md. She was currently employed at Ace Hardware in Lehigh Acres.

She was a long-time active member of Alva United Methodist Church in Alva. One of her favorite pastimes was writing verses and poems.

She never saw the dark side of anything and always focused on the best and the positive. Her love for God and family kept her strong. Her kind and giving nature took her far.

She was a beloved wife, sister, mother and friend. She will be missed by everyone she knew.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Piper Sr. of Lehigh Acres; children, Sandra Louise (Paul) Bohrer of Salisbury, Md., and Jerry Ronald (Penny) Hill of Salisbury, Md.; brother, Preston Steven (Sarah) Richardson of Tyaskin, Md.; sisters, Lanta Henson Tyre of Delmar, Md., and Mary Ellen Bounds (Anil) Sawant of Berlin, Md.; stepbrother, Wayne Smith of Hebron, Md.; stepsisters, Ruth Bennett of Berlin, Md., and Janice Blackmon of Mobile, Ala.; and stepchildren, John Mersor, Wayne Piper Jr., Henry "Hank" Piper, Dawn Mersor, Sandy Hernandez, Tana Bozman, Tina Colonna and Geri Volta; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Jerry Hill; husband, Buddy Bozman; and stepsons, Michael Piper and Daniel Piper.

A visitation was held Sunday, May 20, 2012, with prayers at the Hodges-Farley Funeral Home in Lehigh Acres. A funeral was held Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Md. The Rev. Dow Wood officiated. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery in Oriole, Md.
