Paul N. Prishivalko, 89, and his wife Helen Prishivalko, 91, of Lehigh Acres, passed away on June 24 and June 25, 2012, respectively, of unrelated causes.
Paul and Helen were married for 66 years, living in Lehigh Acres since moving from Brooklyn, New York in 1984.
Paul was retired from the New York City Board of Higher Education, where he last served as senior fiscal manager at New York City Technical College. He was Brooklyn born and raised, left to just his mother's loving care at 14, when his father died.
Helen was born in New York, but grew up in Poland after her parents' return to their native home. She left Poland as the Nazis invaded, and later came to live in New York with relatives.
In Lehigh Acres, they took advantage of retirement years to travel often, especially on many cruises.
They were members of the local Polish-American Club. Helen was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to bake and distribute her cakes and cookies to everyone around.
They are survived by their daughter, Geraldine, of Brooklyn, New York, and son, Ronald, of Reston, Virginia; grandchildren Paul and Kristin; and three great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, 2514 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh Acres. Internment of the double urn will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers.
