Sheriff Mike Scott received an award for going "above and beyond" when it comes to granting employees leave for military duty.
The Above and Beyond Award was presented by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve to Sheriff Scott at Lee County Sheriff's Office Headquarters on Monday. ESGR is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing such efforts.
"It is indeed an honor for the Florida ESGR to recognize the outstanding support by Sheriff Mike Scott and his department," says Marianna Grimes, area chairperson of the Florida ESGR. "The Sheriff's Office continues to be a leader in supporting efforts of the National Guard and Reserve."
