Talent show now taking applications

A talent show and spaghetti dinner will be held from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Buckingham Presbyterian Church. There are three age categories: 8 to 10 years old; 11 to 13 years old; and 14 to 18 years old.

There will be first, second and third place awards from $100 to $200. The grand prize overall winner will get an hour of recording time at a studio session with a producer at the Vibe Recording studio.

The spaghetti dinner is $10.

The application fee for the talent show is $20. The deadline is Aug. 14. To request an application, call 368-2488.

American Legion plans 'Western Night'

American Legion Auxiliary 323 will host a "Western Night" on Aug. 3. Archie and Dianne will be cookin' up the grub - baby back ribs with all the fixins' for $8. Dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. Karaoke with Ray and Vickie Leventhal from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Games and fun for all. Proceeds from the games will be given to the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation. Alcohol will be served to members and their guests only.

Women's Club to meet

The Democratic Women's Club will hold its monthly meeting Aug. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fort Myers. Lunch costs $18 for those who want to eat. To make reservations and for the menu selection, call 466-8381.

Register to vote at chamber on Saturdays

"FEVRR" will conduct voter registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, now through September, in front of the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce building, located in the Lehigh Town Center on Alabama and Homestead roads. Eligible voters must be U.S. citizens and 17 years or older.
