The American Legion Auxiliary 323 in Lehigh Acres will provide a free breakfast to World War II veterans Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. until noon.
Post Commander Jerry Sherlock said this is their way of showing the spirit of '45 is still alive. President Harry Truman and the Congress made this effective just as WWII was ending to keep the spirit that America had then alive throughout years to come.
"We are pleased to be able to honor WWII veterans by giving this breakfast to them for their outstanding service, keeping the many freedoms we enjoy today," he said.
The American Legion is at 1124 Ashlar Ave. For more information, call the Post at (239) 369-3178.
