During July, contractors pulled 63 permits to build single-family houses, collectively valued at more than $11.6 million in unincorporated Lee County.
That compares to 56 permits issued in June and 29 issued in July 2011, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.
Four multi-family units were permitted in July compared to 29 in June and four in July 2011.
Twenty-four new commercial permits were valued at nearly $3.7 million, compared to nearly $4.6 million in June and nearly $4.4 million in July 2011.
During July, Lee County Community Development issued 2,697 permits of all kinds for a total of 19,361for the year to date.
Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
