Vincent Dominick Dutkowski, 83, of Lehigh Acres, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012. He was born April 19, 1929, in Bayonne, N.J., to Joseph and Maryanna (Orlowski) Dutkowski.
He served in the United States Army and was awarded both the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal for Japan.
He was a graduate of the University of Miami and spent his post-military career as a coach and athletic director in high schools located in New Jersey, New York and several of the southern states.
He coached all sports, but was especially respected for his abilities as a basketball coach.
He is survived by a sister; many nieces; a nephew; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; eight brothers; and two sisters.
A private burial service was planned at Sarasota National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
