Breeze boosts Saturday’s paper package

By Staff | Sep 1, 2012

As part of its continuing commitment to readers in Cape Coral, the Breeze Newspapers is combining two of its highest-readership papers, the Saturday Breeze and the Lee County Shopper, into one delivery package.

Saturday Breeze readers are already enjoying an advance look at the popular advertising paper delivered throughout much of Lee County each Wednesday. The formal delivery consolidation of the two papers this week brings a number of advantages, said Breeze Newspapers Publisher Scott Blonde.

“For one thing, it makes for a very solid, content ‘fat’ weekend paper,” Blonde said.

That content includes the Cape’s all-local community newspaper, The Breeze; Parade magazine; an ever-growing number of advertising supplements from the region’s largest retailers including Publix, Kohl’s, hhgregg, Walgreens and Family Dollar; SmartSource national coupons; and now, The Lee County Shopper, Southwest Florida’s No. 1 classified marketplace.

“For readers – and for advertisers – we think combing the two largest-distribution publications in Cape Coral into one weekend package is win-win,” Blonde said.

Breeze Newspapers has adjusted the content deadlines for The Shopper so that Cape readers get a “breaking news” look at all of The Shopper’s popular classified categories, including garage sales, auctions and bazaars, vehicle sales, help wanted and the most comprehensive services listings in Lee County. For ease of readership, The Breeze classified advertising section will be incorporated into The Lee County Shopper beginning this week.

“We’re excited about the change,” Blonde said. “It allows us to offer Cape readers the most comprehensive news and advertising package available in our community, for free and delivered right to their driveway each Saturday.”

The Lee County Shopper, with a total distribution of 60,000, will remain a Wednesday publication in other readership areas.
