Three-day Ministries conference draws more than 100 people
Lehigh Acres was the site for the second annual Amazing Grace Outreach Ministries which drew more than 100 during it three-day gathering.
The conference also being called the Second Annual Believer’s gathering continued from Aug. 23 to 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. It was held at the Faith Lutheran Church at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd., which shared its church and facilities. The group has also met in the past at Majestic Golf Club in Lehigh.
Rev. Delroy Ferron said the purpose of the conference was to help the people in the area with spiritual and physical needs.
“We cater to the total masses,” Delroy said. “We have been around for almost four years.”
“While we do not have a site of our own, other churches share with us their accommodations and the Faith Lutheran Church was very gracious with us in letting us use their church.”
Rev. Ferron and his wife, Rose Marie, were a major part of the conference as were others including ministers and elders.
“We are truly honored to greet each and every one on behalf of the leadership and members of amazing Grace Outreach Ministries to our second annual Believer’s Conference. Our desire and prayer is that lives will be changed and souls will come to the Lord,” said Pastor Ferron.
The outreach ministry is a foundation created to assist and enable the community through partnerships with local churches, social and professional organizations, as well as the residents in Lehigh Acres community,” Ferron said.
“Our focus is on the whole person. We recognize that each individual is both natural and spiritual, and in order to complete that individual the needs of each side must be met and our goal is to provide services to the community that enriches the lives of our neighbors,” Ferron said.
In the conference’s 14-page glossy program, Ferron said the second annual Believer’s Conference is a call for all believers to be ready to meet God.
Ferron welcomed visitors each of the three days of the conference. Some of those who participated included conference speaker Elder Richard Thomas on Thursday, Aug. 23. He is from Columbus, Ga., and ministers in a similar type situation with the Church of God in Christ. Others over the three-day event included people like Pastor Sharod Jones, Bishop Egbert May of the Palmeto Church of God, Sister Janice Boucher of the Church of God of Prophesy, and others from Southwest Florida.
An altar call was issued each night for those who attended, Ferron said.
“We’re here to help where we can,” Ferron said. “For those who need help, they should call me at 645-9226. We offer clothing and other items.
“We see a big need in Lehigh even with so many other churches and organizations helping out. We believe God wants us to also help those in need.”
Ferron said any help from the community as for clothing and money to help the needy is welcome and those who wish to share in the ministry may call him.
In the future, Ferron said there will be a luncheon for the hungry in November on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Call for the location of the luncheon.
Also, the group plans a Prayer Breakfast in February of 2013.
