The Community Council of Lehigh Acres is seeking candidates. You can become a candidate by filling out a form which can be downloaded from: www.LehighAcresCouncil.com. You will also be able to find information about the council there.
The Community Council is made up of 41 members, 21 which are elected by voting citizens of Lehigh and 20 that are at-large appointed from various business and groups within Lehigh. Each year seven people are elected for a three-year term\The election takes place in November with the term of office beginning in January. Forms and information about the election can be found on our website, as well as our bylaws and list of current members.
The Community Council works very hard to try to make Lehigh Acres a better place to live in and work in. We are in touch with the Lee county commissioners, the Sheriff's Office, the Department of Transportation, Parks and Recreation Dept., just to name a few. If you go to our website you will be able to see the complete list of at-large members.
The council meets on the third Monday of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m. and ending by 8:30 p.m. We presently meet at the Sheriff's Annex behind the office off Homestead Rd. and the public is always welcome to attend.
If you are a citizen of Lehigh Acres and you want to become involved to try to make Lehigh better, then get a petition, fill it out, submit it and get yourself elected and help us in our commitment toward Lehigh.
