Many candidates on the ballot in the upcoming Nov. 6 general election will be at Veterans Park at 55 Homestead Rd. in Lehigh Acres at Politics in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 29, beginning at 11 a.m. and concluding at 3 p.m.
It is being sponsored by the Community Council of Lehigh Acres. Two years ago, the venue was packed with several candidates and visitors. Candidates and their campaign aides will be on hand to pass out political materials about their individual candidates.
It also gives voters the opportunity to meet and talk with candidates on a one-to-one basis, say planners of the event.
Prior to the October primary, Politics in the Park was held at a church on the edge of Lehigh. Plans were made to return to Veterans Park this coming Saturday where there is plenty of parking.
There will be free food for those who attend and each candidate will be given a few minutes to speak to the audience outside on the patio, weather permitting, about his or her campaign plans.
Included in this session will be local candidates running for the Lehigh Acres Fire District board of commissioners and for the East County Water Control District.
