To the editor:
To the firefighters of the Lehigh Acres Fire Department who protested the 9/11 ceremony, I say this: You have shirked your duty. Your desire to obtain more benefits for yourself has desecrated the memorial of the victims of 9/11.
You have chosen to put your personal interest above that of your country. I say to you the following: Sometimes when you're feeling important, sometimes when your ego is in bloom, sometimes when you take it for granted, that you are the best qualified in the room - sometimes when you feel that you're going would leave an unbillable hole, just follow these simple instructions and you'll see it humbles your soul.
Take a bucket and fill it with water, put your hand in it up to the wrist, pull it out and the hole that's remaining is the measure of how you'll be missed.
You may splash all you want as you enter, you can store up the waters galore, but stop, and you'll find in a minute that it looks quite the same as before.
The moral in this quaint example is to do the best that you can, be proud of yourself, but remember there is no indispensable man.
I am ashamed of you for your actions on Sept. 11, 2012.
