Employees at Truly Nolen on Lee Boulevard said it has been a little over a decade since one of the worst days in American history occurred and it will continue to be remembered by everyone. In a heartfelt tribute to honor fallen fire responders, Truly Nolen Lehigh employees paid respects to their local heroes, the Lehigh Acres Fire Department last week and handed out coffee and donuts in a show of gratitude.
John DeMartino is the manager for the Truly Nolen store who spearheaded the efforts to honor the firefighters and first responders.
Heidi Curiel who also spoke for Truly Nolen said that in honor of the company's Good Citizen Week, employees wanted to head over to the Lehigh Fire Department on 9/11 to treat firefighters with refreshments in a show of appreciation.
Good Citizen Week is a community-wide effort whereby Truly Nolen employees are expected to perform good deeds such as visiting nursing homes, repairing flat tires for stranded motorists, orchestrating beach cleanups, handing out coloring books to children, buying people car washes and surprising locals with free snacks and cold water with the hopes that those impacted will choose to pass it forward to another unsuspecting individual.
