Bernard M. McDyer, 75, of Lehigh Acres, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his wife and caregivers. He was born July 25, 1937, in Wilkes Barre, Pa., to Cornelius and Ruth McDyer.
He was a retiree of New Jersey Bell (Verizon) and held a second level management position there.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Garrett McDyer; children, Margo (Brad) Gibson of North Kingstown, R.I., Maureen (Britt) Denner of Fort Worth, Texas, Michael (Angela) McDyer of Flemington, N.J., and Marian Squashic of Sparta, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and adopted son, the Rev. Raybo Frank.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Hope Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Christ United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations may be sent to Hope Hospice Lehigh Acres.
Arrangements were handled by Hodges-Farley Funeral Home, in Lehigh Acres.
