Conveniently located in downtown Lehigh Acres just off Taylor Lane is one the community's finest restaurants. Its name is Bistro Rudy and Rudy Fers and his wife, Maria, purchased the restaurant a few months ago and have made changes to the interior with new colors, wall paintings and more, including new menus.
They're excited about opening the restaurant in the Village at Lehigh and want to invite the community to come and enjoy their fine culinary offerings and for the first time in Lehigh, to enjoy excellent live entertainment after a meal.
With Season approaching fast, Bistro Rudy is looking forward to not only attracting tourists and visitors, but also the people who call Lehigh home.
Bistro Rudy, a fine dining restaurant in Lehigh with affordable prices, is located 1251 Taylor Lane Extension. The new owners also operate the first floor for lunches and a deli.
In addition to the Bistro Rudy on the second floor (there's an elevator in addition to steps), the couple has also purchased the downstairs restaurant that caters to the lunch crowd and provides a deli filled with fresh meats.
"Our meals are priced incredibly and our menu features just about anything one would want," Fers said. While the prior restaurant was also called Bistro, the name of "Rudy" is new for the present owners.
Also involved with Rudy and Maria is Nicholas Andrefsky, the restaurants' marketing coordinator who also plans and books entertainment for all groups of prospective customers.
Andrefsky said the Bistro Rudy restaurant is beautiful and that it is the plan for the operators of the eatery to provide the finest entertainment in Lehigh.
"We are proud to say there is nothing else like this in Lehigh. We want people to become part of our restaurant and we want to become part of the community. We think diners will enjoy their experience here and we encourage them to visit and dine with us and bring their friends," he said.
"We're slowly building a reputation here. We are sure visitors will enjoy the new atmosphere in our two dining rooms upstairs plus an outside patio dining area," Andrefsky said.
Fers and his wife, who also works in the restaurant, say those who like German food will find "dishes with a twist a little different than usual."
"We also specialize in international dining, including great American cuisine. And the prices are affordable and the nights when there is entertainment, there is no extra charge," Fers said.
Already several local organizations and clubs have dined at Bistro Rudy, including the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce and other groups. Committees within other organizations have also met at the new restaurant.
"We are not a bar, nor a tavern where it is loud. Our diners will enjoy the evening and the show and relax while they are dining," Fers said.
Bistro Rudy plans special monthly programs and each month targets to different audiences while diners of all ages will continue to enjoy their meals.
Andrefsky has announced the upcoming entertainment at Bistro Rudy.
Saturday, Nov. 3, swing songs from the 30s to the 60s. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10, high school acoustic singer songwriters (pending turnout).
Saturday, Dec. 1, Nicky Frost - Golden Era of Rock 'n Roll; One Hit Wonders Edition.
On Saturday Jan. 5, the sounds of Sinatra and on Sunday, January 13, a brand new second Sunday tea German style tea menu, classical music and readings from Charles Dickens.
"The idea is to create a place that caters to all people. Cabaret shows, tea, high school signer songwriter, etc. We are open to suggestions and are happy to work with anyone who wants to produce an event. We cater to businesses, non-profit organizations and charities.
"Bistro Rudy is unique that way. We do not view ourselves as strictly a German and international dining experience. We are a community establishment and will help to serve our local customers in any way we can," Andrefsky said. Reservations are recommended by calling 239-303-1114.
Andrefsky is looking for local talent all the time. Students, teachers and bandleaders in the schools are encouraged to call him at 215-499-1662.
Kers also wants the community to come for lunch at the downstairs restaurant.
"Lunches start at $6 and we have great seating and we can get our diners out within the hour," Fers said.
Bistro Rudy and the first floor restaurant are open every day except for Mondays.
The upstairs Bistro Rudy opens with dinners served between 4 and 10 p.m.
They also want the public to visit their "Rudy's Rosedale Room, Lehigh's only cabaret room, which Fers said is the only such room in Lehigh.
