The 2012 Festival of Trees is open to the public during the following times:

- Nov. 23: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

- Nov. 24: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

- Nov. 25: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Donations are appreciated at the door.

During the festival's opening weekend, families are invited to bring their little ones to the Children's Holiday Workshop. For a $6 per child admission fee, children can play holiday games, create ornaments and cards, enjoy stories and more.

The workshop is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 23, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 24, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25.

Other highlights of the festival include the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center's Brunch with Santa on Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to the brunch is $12. On Saturday evening, the Fort Myers River District will celebrate its annual Holiday Stroll, and the Art Center will host a holiday concert by Beatles tribute band "The Nowhere Band."

The charitable and glamorous Tux & Trees Gala concludes the festival on Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. All of the festival's trees will be sold during an exciting live auction, while wreaths and other extravagant items will be available in a silent auction. The evening will be hosted by Stacey Adams of WINK News and auctioneer Mike Joyce of Gulfcoast Coin & Jewelry.

Tickets to the Tux & Trees Gala are $100.

Last year's festival and gala raised $56,000 to support the Southwest Florida Goodwill Foundation, which provides long-term financial support to programs and services of Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida.

In 2011, Goodwill helped 23,000 Southwest Floridians with disabilities and other disadvantages become more independent.
