Riverdale Branch Library presents activities, events list for October

The October roster of activities at the Riverdale Branch Library offers topics for all ages. The following are free to the public:

Adults

- Game Club Wednesday

1 p.m. Oct. 17, 24 and 31

Bring your friends, join our friends, make new friends! Play old card games, learn new ones or try chess or other board games.

Family

- October is Fire Safety Month

2 p.m. Oct. 27

Smokey Bear will stop by to say "only you can prevent wildfires." The Florida Forest Service will have many resources and educational activities to share with all ages! Let's all learn more on fire safety and prevention.

Children

- Kids Read Down Fines

10-11 a.m. Oct. 20 and 27

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading, during the allotted time. A total of $8 per day may be earned. For ages 18 and younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only. Please bring your library card.

- Lauren Oliver's "Before I Fall" Trivia

Through Oct. 20

High school and middle school teens who read Lauren Oliver's "Before I Fall" can pick up a trivia contest questionnaire at the library. Answers must be returned by 2 p.m. Oct. 20. Prizes will be awarded.

Available during normal library operating hours: Tuesday, noon-8 p.m.; Wednesday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Friday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
