Fall Festival Dinner tickets available

Tickets are available for the St. Raphael’s Fall Festival opening night dinner set for Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. A flag raising and ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at the church campus. The festival runs until the weekend. For tickets, call 303-8540.

Archers registering new participants

The Lee County Archers are registering new participants. The following events take place at the Nalle Grade County Park Range in North Fort Myers:

– Nov. 15: Public invited from 2 to 8 p.m. Open ranges include a 20-yard lighted covered pavilion, a 30- to 80-yard lighted outdoor range, and a 28-target field range.

– Nov. 18: 3D Archery Shoot. A roving field range consisting of 20 3D target stations and a 14-station N.F.A.A. field course. Sign up from 8-8:30 a.m., with shotgun start at 9 a.m. A $10 shooting fee applies.

– Dec. 1: 900 Round at 9 a.m.

Women’s Club to meet

The November meeting of the General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Faith Lutheran Church, on Leeland Heights Boulevard. The chief executive officer of the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce is the speaker. There will also be a holiday bake sale.

The Annual Christmas Dinner Dance will be held from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Colonial Country Club, off of Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers. Music by Jerry Ward. Tickets are $40 per person. See Daphne at the meeting for tickets.

Community Plan Workshop set

The next Lehigh Acres Community Plan Workshop will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 17 at the East County Regional Library, at 881 Gunnery Road N.

Open House at Berne Davis Botanical Gardens

The 3rd annual Open House at the Berne Davis Botanical Gardens, at 2166 Virginia Ave., Fort Myers, will take place Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Is it sponsored by the Fort Myers-Lee County Garden Council and the Edison & Ford Winter Estates Garden Market.

The open house is free.

There is a garden walk, demonstrations of palm trimming and weaving techniques presented by the Potpourri Designers, and gardening books and related items for sale. Several affiliated garden councils will also have booths.

Profits from the sale go toward the FGCU Garden Council Scholarship.

Free admission to bonsai show, sale

The Annual Bonsai Show & Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 17-18 at the Lee County Election Center, at 13180 Cleveland Ave. S., Fort Myers. Sponsored by the Bonsai Society of Southwest Florida, event admission and parking are free.

The event will feature bonsai exhibits and critiques, workshops and demonstrations, raffles, silent auctions, and sales of bonsai trees and supplies. Vendors will be present to assist buyers with bonsai needs and supplies.

Ed Trout, Toby Diaz, Ernie Fernandez, Mike Feduccia, Mike Cartrett and Dorothy Schmitz, all renowned bonsai artists, will be available to give lectures and provide demonstrations. For information, contact Jim Bremer at 482-7543.

Church bazaar set

A church bazaar will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 at St. Anselm Episcopal Church, located at Sixth Street and Joel Boulevard. There will also be a flea market. All proceeds will go toward out reach programs at the church.

Annual Golf Outing to benefit LCS

Lehigh Community Services will hold its Annual Golf Outing on Dec. 1 at Westminster Golf Club on Leonard Avenue, with a shotgun tee-off at 8 a.m.

Entry fee is $60 and includes continental breakfast, greens fee, golf cart, luncheon and prizes. Sponsorships in the range of $100 to $500 are available, a hole sign is only $50.

Lee County Community Band to perform

The Lee County Community Band will perform Dec. 9, Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 10 and April 7 at Cape Coral High School, at 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd. The events are free of charge, though donations are accepted.

Band members are musicians from all walks of life – career musicians, amateurs and folks renewing skills from years past – who reside in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties. The band rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays at St. Michael’s Lutheran School in Fort Myers; new members are welcome.
