November 21, 2012

Members of the Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres and Relators from Coldwell Banker Preferred Properties pitched in to beautify a home on Redcliff Avenue.

The home had been donated to Lehigh Community Services by the previous owner through her will. The money generated by the sale of the home will be able to serve hundreds, if not thousands, of local people in need.

Lehigh Community Services is a social service organization and food bank helping residents in the area for more than 35 years.

As part of the "Make a Difference Day" movement, held nationwide every year on the last Saturday in October, the Lehigh Rotary Club decided to find a home that needed paint and cleanup. When the club was contacted by Lehigh Community Services, they knew right away it would benefit a lot of people.

On Oct. 26-27, a crew of 15 volunteers got the job done. The building was pressure washed, the bushes trimmed, grass cut and the house was painted. As a final touch, the porch was re-screened.

The neighborhood and community will benefit from the project.
