Lehigh man charged in Fort Myers robberies
A Lehigh Acres man has been charged with the robbery of the CVS Pharmacy at 12255 South Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers as well as the Circle K robbery at 11225 S. Cleveland Ave. also in Fort Myers that occurred on Nov. 22.
A spokesman with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that on Dec. 5, they were called to a robbery at the CVS Pharmacy in Fort Myers and met with store employees and witnesses.
Investigators said it was determined that a young man approximately five feet and seven inches tall weighing from 120 to 130 pounds with facial hair, wearing a black hooded jacket with red and white writing on it, a white T-shirt underneath the jacket and wearing black tennis shoes, was the person responsible for the robbery.
The suspect demanded money from the cash register while displaying a small caliber silver handgun and witnesses said he spoke with an unknown accent.
After stealing an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled. There were no incidents in the incident.
Investigators had issued a request for anyone who had information to call Crime Stoppers to receive an award for any information that would lead to the suspect’s arrest.
