To the editor:
As a poll worker in the recent elections I November, I observed that my table that we were always waiting for people to come in. The deputies at the poll place very often were somewhere else away from the door where people were standing in line to come in.
I wanted to go to let people in, but they didn't let me. They said that it not my responsibility.
Therefore, my honest opinion is that there were poll workers who were not performing accordingly.
I also don't understand why there were more Democrats poll workers and not Republicans. I have worked as a poll election inspector for 15 years. There used to be always one Republican and one Democrat but I didn't see this at this past elections and I wonder why.
Were there untrained Democrats poll workers at the last minute? Also my team was always free to help the voters, but the other precinct workers were really slow.
As a matter of fact, we were there, at the end, doing nothing for about three hours, waiting for the slow team to finish, so we could start putting everything away.
We need poll workers who are well trained to do a great job as my team did. We also need to have poll workers from both parties, not only Democrats. That is just not right.
It's not fair.
Thanks for kind attention to this letter. I plan to send this letter to others in the next election and I will not stop until all people are educated about this matter.
