January pulled permits valued at $9.1 million

During January, contractors pulled 54 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at more than $9.1 million in unincorporated Lee County.

That compares to 57 permits issued in December and 35 issued in January 2012, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.

During January, eight multi-family units were permitted, compared to 15 in December and four in January 2012.

General commercial activity was valued at nearly $2.5 million, compared to $517,636 in December and nearly $5.4 million in January 2012.

During January, Lee County Community Development issued 2,883 permits of all kinds.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
