Police bust second alleged meth operation

Cape Coral police busted another meth lab operation Thursday afternoon, according to officials.

The Florida Department of Children and Families arrived at 1312 S.E. 24th Ave. for an investigation when the DCF investigator discovered something suspicious. As a result, the investigator contacted the police for assistance.

Upon arrival, officers immediately recognized the materials reportedly used to manufacture methamphetamines.

Narcotics detectives were contacted, who then obtained and served a search warrant.

According to officials, detectives collected evidence Thursday from the residence.

Natalie Dayle Vance, 28, of 1312 S.E. 24th Ave., was arrested and charged with drugs produce methamphetamine, drugs produce possess structure vehicle know drugs manufactured minor present and amphetamine traffick or methamphetamine 14 grams or over.

She remained at the Lee County Jail on Friday on $65,000 bond.

This is the second alleged lab busted in the Cape this week.

On Monday, Cape police were called to a home at 1216 N.E. 16th Terrace for a report of a possible burglary. Upon arrival, they reportedly discovered items indicative of a methamphetamine lab operation.

Narcotics detectives were contacted, who obtained a search warrant for the residence.

Detectives seized more than 1 pound of meth and supplies for cooking the drug.

Janet A. Raymond, 21, of 1216 N.E. 16th Terrace, was arrested and charged with amphetamine traffick or methamphetamine 14 grams or over and drugs produce methamphetamine.

“Our patrol officers are trained to recognize the signs of a meth lab,” Sizemore reported in a prepared statement Tuesday. “Their experience and knowledge enabled them to discover this extremely dangerous operation, while initially at the home for another matter.”

“Fortunately, we were able to dismantle this meth lab before something tragic happened in this neighborhood,” he stated.

As of Friday, Raymond had been released from the Lee County Jail on $35,000 bond.
